The French forward turned down a move to Barcelona in the summer and feels that decision was justified by Atletico Madrid winning the UEFA Super Cup

Atletico Madrid striker, Antoine Griezmann, said "it was good project" and that he "trusted Simeone and this team" following their 4-2 UEFA Super Cup victory over city rivals Real Madrid.

"I stayed because there was a good project. I trust this club and Simeone. Today you can see that I wasn't wrong. There's still a long way to go and we must keep working as we have been," Griezmann told Movistar Plus.

"We worked a lot, put in so much effort, and those who came on made the difference. We have to keep going that way because we're such a good group," added Antoine, who admitted that he felt a little tired after only taking part in his second game of the summer.
