Isco scores twice as Real Madrid strike last minute winner against Sporting

Zidane's side were moments away from dropping points when Isco popped up

Vesga and Cop had twice given the home side the lead at El Molinon

Isco scored a dramatic late winner as Real Madrid twice came from behind to beat Sporting Gijon 3-2 and move closer to a first La Liga title since 2012.

Zinedine Zidane made a number of changes in Gijon -- there was no BBC even in the squad -- but once again his squad showed its depth and picked up three points, although it was left very late.

Duje Cop gave Sporting a first half lead but Madrid responded almost immediately, Isco firing in the first of two goals after a brilliant piece of individual skill.

Mikel Vesga headed the home side back in front after the break, but Madrid once again reacted well and Alvaro Morata drew them level for a second time.

Sporting looked set to hold out for a point and breathe fresh life back into the title race, but Madrid, not for the first time this season, struck late.

Isco, so often left out on the big occasions, was the hero, firing home as the clock ticked towards 90 minutes.

Madrid now have a six point lead over Barcelona, atlhough Luis Enrique's side can reduce it to three with a win over Real Sociedad on Saturday -- although they will have played a game more than Zidane's men.

Next up for Los Blancos are two enticing home games: Bayern Munich in the Champions League followed by the Clasico against Barça.
