Tottenham forward Harry Kane is someone who Real Madrid fans would like to see at their club next season, even though he didn't score when the teams met on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu. Some fans are fed up of having a No 9 who doesn't score in the case of Karim Benzema, while Cristiano Ronaldo has also been far from convincing so far this season.
The start of the season has seen Madrod needing someone who can complement the Portuguese forward, who is well on his way to his 33rd birthday. Cristiano has always used his physical power to help his game but at his age it is harder to recover from one game to the next.
In these circumstances, Madridismo, at all levels, including Florentino Perez, is thinking about a replacement for their grand star. And Kane is in their sights. "Cristiano is my model," he said, leaving the door open to a move. "I don't rule out playing overseas."
However the price is prohibitive. Tottenham don't want to sell Kane, who has a contract to 2022, for less than 200 million. Meanwhile there isa chance Gareth Bale could return to the Premier League - increasing the need for a new forward.
