Real Madrid are set to resign Alaves goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco

Fernando Pacheco, one of Alaves' cup heroes, is likely return to Real Madrid at the end of the season. The goalkeeper, who came through Madrid's youth system, is having a sensational season and Zinedine Zidane is said to have asked for his return. Madrid have an option to buy him back for around 4 million euros, similar to what they did with Kiko Casilla, who they rebought from Espanyol.

Pacheco left Real Madrid knowing it would be hard to play for the first team. However the club did not want to let him go totally, knowing his potential after positive reports from the goalkeeping coaches.

If Pacheco signs for Madrid in the summer there could be total revolution in the club at that position. They want to replace Keylor Navas with De Gea or Thibaut Courtois, and it would not be a surprise to see Casilla leave either. He has offers from the Premier League and wants to play more. Madrid are also considering using Marcos Llorente next season, the midfielder who is on loan there until June 30.
