Los Blancos eased to victory against the bottom of the table east coasters, with Marco Asensio firing Madrid ahead early on.
Karim Benzema netted two penalties before the break to extend Madrid’s lead and Luka Modric fired in the fourth in the last 10 minutes.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side never had to get out of second gear.
They next face Osasuna on Saturday where they could reduce Barcelona’s lead to five points before the Catalans host Cadiz on Sunday.
