There is a precedent for Unai Emery's men to follow

PSG were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the Champions League last 16 first leg on Wednesday but they should not give up the ghost. History shows they have come back from that scoreline before.

In 1992-93 the Parisians lost 3-1 in the first leg of the UEFA Cup quarter finals, with Butragueno, Zamorano and Michel netting, but Ginola's strike gave them some hope.

In the second leg Madrid had a nightmare.

PSG's coach Artur Jorge put out his team, featuring Lama, Weah and Valdo among others, and they won 4-1, with Valdo netting in the 88th minute to make it 3-0, Zamorano seemingly forcing extra time by scoring in the 92nd minute, before defender Kombouare scored in the 96th minute to seal the win with a header.

It was brutal for Real Madrid. "The players were totally destroyed afterwards," said Floro.

A season later the teams met again and PSG knocked Madrid out again. They have never been eliminated by Madrid - what will happen on the third attempt?
