Kylian Mbappe's plan to renew with PSG this summer

The French striker was poised to join Real Madrid but the situation could be changing

Kylian Mbappe has not taken a decision on his future. He is free to leave PSG from June 30, and he wants to play for Real Madrid, but there are some doubts. He is even considering staying in Paris for one final year.

Despite that, he may sign until 2024, which means Real Madrid would have to pay a transfer fee for him in a year’s time. That could affect Madrid’s relationship with him, although he’s wanted to play for them since visiting Valdebebas years ago and meeting Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

His good link up with Leo Messi, who makes him a better player and is allowing him to grow further, the Qatar World Cup, and Madrid’s worse sporting offer than PSG in the short term, are the main reasons he might delay a move. He is 23, has many years ahead how him, and there is no rush.

Mbappe left a door open to staying this weekend. “Only Cavani is ahead of me to be the top goalscorer in PSG history. We will see what happens. To be the top goalscorer of this club is something that can’t be ignored,” he said, after hitting a double against Saint-Etienne and levelling Ibrahimovic at 156 goals in the list. Edinson reached 200 in Paris.
