There are games and moments that can change a club’s course and Karim Benzema’s hat-trick against PSG will have market consequences. Real Madrid were interested in signing Erling Haaland as well as Kylian Mbappe and now might well not do that. Benzema will not be leaving for another year with his contract up in 2023.
Haaland maybe will have to sign for Man City or Barcelona if he wants to leave this summer, or wait at Dortmund another year.
Florentino Perez was ready to try and sign both Mbappe and Haaland. But that would mean Benzema had to go this summer and after this performance, that is extremely unlikely.
If there is no space in Madrid then Man City and Barcelona are the options. City can offer more money and a stronger team but Haaland wants to play in Spain. Benzema could have had a big impact in his decision, which will be coming soon.
