Paris Saint-Germain came close to signing Atletico Madrid star Griezmann

The French side were keen on the forward but his wages put them off in the end

Following the departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar, Paris Saint-Germain have been scouring the market for a top player to partner star man Kylian Mbappé.

One of the names on the table was that of Antoine Griezmann. The Parisian side tried to sign the Atletico Madrid striker, according to 'L'Equipe'.

After learning of Griezmann's exit clause of just €25 million at the 'Colchonero' club, PSG made contact to discuss the feasibility of a move.

Despite the strong interest, Griezmann's high salary made the French club change their plans, as they had no plans to incorporate such a high wage.

In the end, PSG brought in Ousmane Dembélé and Randal Kolo Muani to reinforce their attack and thus have a dream front line with Mbappe.
