Few conclusions can be drawn from a game against Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli, who would find it hard to play in the Segunda B in Spain

As he who pays rules, Barcelona had to travel to Qatar to play a friendly just five days before a key derby clash with Espanyol, which they must win. And what’s more, they started the trident. Because of their contract. Which was just half an hour, enough for Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez to each score a goal.

Few conclusions can be drawn from a game against Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli, who would find it hard to play in the Segunda B in Spain. At least Paco Alcacer scored, ending his drought. Although it was not an official game he netted and celebrated with a smile from ear to ear. A bit of tranquility will do well after such anxiety.

The negative was Jordi Masip. He let in three goals, one a penalty, in just 45 minutes. A slack 45 minutes. He paid for his inactivity, but these goals will do him a lot of damage too.

Barcelona must now head home and start to prepare for Sunday’s game at Camp Nou. They need to win to cut the different, albeit just symbolically, that Madrid are ahead of them—Los Blancos are at the Club World Cup. A bit of pressure would be good, at least psychologically.
