Messi keeps touching the sky in every game

Lionel Messi has worn Barca’s shirt on 767 occasions. A total of 767 times that Barca fans have been able to enjoy the best player in the history of football. For over 16 years they’ve had the privilege of watching him. And getting thrilled by his goals (661), admiring his assists (286) and congratulating him for individual titles (six Ballon d’Ors) and collective ones (34). Messi has made the impossible possible since his debut on October 16, 2004. His legend has been growing as he breaks records. Now he has levelled Xavi on the most games played for Barcelona. Laporta would do well to (and I’m sure he will) present him an unrejectable contract renewal. The team full of youngsters needs Messi to help solidify. He must be the leader in both a spiritual and footballing sense of the new Barca that Koeman is constructing.

A Barca heading towards a potential double. Cup finalists and now four points behind Atletico in La Liga, 34 points from 36 available in 2021, 11 wins and one draw. They are close now. Very close. Thanks, especially, to Messi, who, before the banner that paid homage to his record, keeps touching the sky in every game.
