The Rojiblancos are on track to finish ahead of their city rivals in LaLiga

An Antoine Griezmann-inspired Atletico Madrid beat Cadiz 5-1 on Wednesday to climb ahead of Real Madrid into second in the table. 

After Madrid lost to Real Sociedad on Tuesday, Diego Simeone's side emerged as Barcelona's closest challengers at the top of the table. 

However, they are still 13 points behind Barça, who could win LaLiga next weekend. 

Still, Atletico will be happy to finish ahead of Madrid and that looks on the cards after Griezmann, enjoying a fine season, downed Cadiz. 

The French forward scored twice in the first half before goals the other side of half time from Alvaro Morata and Yannick Carrasco, from the spot, made it 4-0. 

Anthony Lozano pulled one back foe relegation threatened Cadiz, but Nahuel Molina completed the rout in the 73rd minute.
