Elche was held down on Friday at Estadio Martínez Valero by Celta as the game ended 1-1. Elche and Celta arrived at this match after suffering a defeat in their previous league game. Elche faced the match with a desire to make up their league after losing against Real Betis 3-1 while Celta fell defeated by 1-4 in the last match they played against Real Sociedad.
