Winter signing: Roger Riera joins Barcelona B
He comes for free from Holland and returns to the club where he won the UEFA Youth League
Roger Riera will join Barca B Today. He will be the one signing made in the winter window, although Ilaix Moriba will also be registered for the B team. Riera, 25, returns to the club to provide leadership in defence for free, with a low contract, given the club’s problems. The board agree that Garcia Pimienta needed a player and have given the operation the OK.
The Masnou born defender will have his medical this morning. This season he has played 15 games with NAC Breda in Eerst Division in Holland.
He may get his fist game on Sunday against El Prat, and will sign until the end of the season. He tried to come back to Barcelona in the summer but could not as the Dutch club wanted a fee.
He left Barca in 2014 after captaining them to the UEFA Youth League. He was out of contract then but seven years layer he is back to give a boost to the B team.
