Konrad takes the step forward that Koeman wanted
He hit a double for Barca B in a big game and can be useful
Konrad de la Fuente’s best performance of the season arrived at the right moment. The US winger led Barca B to a 2-1 win over Alcoyano and got both goals to help them close in on the Liga Smartbank play-offs.
At Barca there was concern over Konrad this season. He did pre-season with the first team and had minutes. From there, Koeman wanted him in the dynamic but he only had a couple of substitute appearances.
In the week he trained with Koeman’s men and at the weekend he played with Barca B.
With Alex Collado out, Konrad had to show he could lead the B team. And he did it with a fine performance.
It opened the doors to the first team again and shows that if he gets chances he wants to take advantage of them.
With La Liga at stake in the final weeks it’s hard for him to get minutes but he’s shown Koeman that he can count on him for next season if needed.
