Official: Copa America host-less after taking finals away from Argentina
First Colombia and now Argentina have been told the competition cannot be played in their country
CONMEBOL have taken the drastic decision to take this summer's Copa America away from Argentine due to the increasing amount of coronavirus cases in the country.
Argentine were due to co-host the tournament, originally to be played last summer, with Colombia, who had their hosting rights taken away 10 days ago due to social unrest in the country.
CONMEBOL will now analyse the proposals from other countries to see where the competition can be played, with Chile and the United States among the options on the table.
The Copa America is due to start on June 13, with Lionel Messi's Argentina playing against Chile.
That match was supposed to be played in Buenos Aires, but with just two weeks until the finals begin, everything is up in the air.
La CONMEBOL informa que en atención a las circunstancias presentes ha resuelto suspender la organización de la Copa América en Argentina. La CONMEBOL analiza la oferta de otros países que mostraron interés en albergar el torneo continental.
