Collado wins battle with Riqui Puig & makes Barça's Clasico squad

The B team forward has been included among thr 18 for the game at the Bernabeu

It may seem anecdotal but it isn't. Alex Collado has been named in the Barcelona squad for Sunday's Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid while Riqui Puig will have to conform with playing for the B team against Orihuela earlier in the day.

It seems clear that coach Quique Setien currently prefers Collado to Puig. As the coach himself explained in an interview with La Vanguardia, in which he praised Puig's technical quality, he feels the young midfielder still has to work on the defensive side of his game and his reading of matches.

Setien backed Riqui when he first took charge in January. In fact, in his first two games (against Granada and Ibiza), he used him. But, curiously, in the Copa del Rey game against Ibiza when Riqui started, he was not as his best and many blamed him for switching off in the build-up to Ibiza's goal.

From that moment, Collado's involvement has grown and he's been involved with the squad, coming off the bench at Valencia, and is now going to get his first taste of a Clasico.
