The Brazilian wide man was key in the 2-0 win for his side at the Stade Louis II

Alves set up both goals for Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain

Dani Alves played on the right wing for Juventus as they beat Monaco 2-0 in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final. His adaptation to life in Turin has been total, taking the place of Lichtsteiner without fuss.

In the 29th minute Juventus broke with lethal force on the counter. A wonderful backheel by Dybala fed Alves, who charged forward at high speed, playing the ball to Gonzalo Higuain and then backheeling it with a magic touch back into the striker's path, with the Argentine finishing it to send Juve 1-0 up in Monaco.

Higuain hadn't scored in the Champions League knock-out stages since April 2013. More than 1000 days later Alves helped turn the situation around.

They connected again for the second goal, Higuain polishing off Alves' cross at the back post to put his team on the verge of the Cardiff final.

Furthermore, Alves overtook Roberto Carlos in this game as the Brazilian who has played the most games in European competition, with 142 matches over 141.
