Van Dijk doesn't want to influence De Ligt's decision on his future
The Liverpool centre back, who are one of the teams interested in De Ligt, said whatever decision his teammate makes will be a good one
Liverpool are the latest side to join the race for Matthijs de Ligt as they look to link him up with international teammate Virgil van Dijk. However the centre back says he doesn't want to get involved in the decision process and that the decision should be de Ligt's and no one elses.
"Matthijs is a fantastic player and whatever decision he makes will be good for him. We'll see," he said when asked where the Ajax captain would be playing next season. The two sides who appear in the strongest position for his services are the English side and FC Barcelona.
Van Dijk recently won the Champions League and has been compared to the likes of Maldini, Nesta and Costacurta. "I always work hard but I don't think I'm in that category yet. I'm just beginning and I want to win more titles with Liverpool and for my national team."
