Barça are due a percentage of any fee Nice get for Todibo, with Sevilla keen

FC Barcelona have an ace up their sleeve in negotiations for the Sevilla defender Jules Kounde. It comes in the form of Jean-Clair Todibo, who currently plays for Nice, who he signed for from Barça.

Sevilla are interested in signing Todibo because they are likely to lose their two starting centre-backs this summer. Diego Carlos has already signed for Aston Villa and Barça are among the teams keen on Kounde.

When Barça negotiated Todibo's exit with Nice, they reserved 25% of any future sale and the club are ready to give that up if Todibo moves to Sevilla and facilitates Kounde's arrival at Barça.

Sevilla want around €60 million for Kounde and Chelsea are one of the teams along with Barça who want to sign the France international.

The English club have also been linked with Matthijs de Ligt, who currently looks more likely to join Bayern Munich from Juventus, and Napoli's Koulibaly.

Barça coach Xavi has specifically asked the club to do all they can to sign Kounde this summer.

Chelsea and Barça's transfer business seems to be heavily connected this summer, with the owner of the English club, Todd Boehly, in Barcelona on Thursday to meet with Joan Laporta and Mateu Alemany.

In addition to competing for Kounde and Raphinha, Barça want Chelsea duo Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, while Chelsea could be interested in Frenkie de Jong and Sergiño Dest.
