The maths over when Barcelona could win La Liga

In the Barcelona dressing room they expect Atletico to slip up at one of Villarreal, Madrid or Sociedad

Barcelona head to Malaga on Saturday looking to take another step towards the league title. A title which, after the 1-0 win over Atletico last weekend, seems closer than ever for Ernesto Valverde's side.

The Blaugrana have an eight point advantage which effectively equates to nine, because if they draw on points with Atletico, second, then Barcelona will win because they won on head to head (1-1 at the Wanda, 1-0 at Camp Nou).

Barcelona have the Champions League to think about too, as well as the Copa del Rey final against Sevilla (April 21).

THE CALCULATOR

At Barca they want to seal the league title as soon as possible.

BARCA GAME WEEK ATLETICO GAME

Sevilla-Barça  30 Atlético-Deportivo

Levante-Barça 37 Getafe-Atlético
Barça-R.Sociedad 38 Atlético-Eibar

(*) In week 34 Barca-Villarreal will have to be moved because of the Copa del Rey final.

WILL ATLETICO SLIP UP?

It seems difficult for Atletico to win all of their remaining games, more so as they are trying to win the Europa League.

In this sense, Barca will hope Cholo's side can lose points in the visits to Villarreal and Real Madrid, and potentially at Real Sociedad too.

At Barcelona they think that seven wins and 1 draw - 22 points of 33 - will be enough to win the title, if Atletico slip up a couple of times.
