Coutinho and Dembele were the main surprises in the starting line-up

Barcelona's Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho scored the first goal for the Catalans against Deportivo La Coruna, putting them on their way to winning the title.

Coutinho replaced Andres Iniesta in the starting line-up and put Barça ahead against the struggling Galicians with a wonderful chipped shot with one touch after receiving a pass from Ousmane Dembele.

It was Coutinho's fifth goal for Barcelona and Dembele's fifth assist for the club, despite the fact the Frenchman has not been able to play many games due to injury.

Coutinho's goal came in the seventh minute after a brilliant team move lead by Dembele. The Frenchman tried to beat a defender but could not and instead passed to Coutinho, who lobbed Ruben Martinez in the Deportivo goal, putting Barca on their way to clinching La Liga.

Barça hit a second goal when Luis Suarez pulled off an outrageous pass with the outside of his boot which Lionel Messi volleyed home, but Lucas Perez pulled one back for Deportivo before halftime.
