Philppe Coutinho is an authentic gem of a player. The 120 million euros (plus bonuses) Barcelona splashed out to get him from Liverpool in January are already starting to pay off, and it seems obvious that he's a player who's going to have a huge impact at Barcelona in the next few years. In this final stretch of the season Ernesto Valverde has made it clear what Coutinho's role in the team is going to be. And it's also pretty clear that he's going to be one of the team's most important players next season.
Coutinho is fleet footed and is capable of inventing wonderful pieces of skill which few other players in the world can produce, such as his magnificent, first-timed finish to score Barça's opening goal against Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday to put them on their way to the title.
After he scored, all his teammates went to hug him as if he had been at the club for years. Another symptom of his quick and effective adaptation to the team.
The Brazilian has taken very little time to become a fundamental part of Valverde's tactics. And the best is yet to come.
