The Coutinho - Koeman chat which was crucial for Brazilian's future

"I was delighted to know that he had faith in me and wanted me," Coutinho said

After a season on loan at Bayern Munich, adapting to his new role at the German club, Philippe Coutinho has returned to Barcelona this year a different player to the one that left for the Bundesliga.

Now, Coutinho has spoken about his first takj with Ronald Koeman and how he convinced him to return to Barça and not look for a permanent move away from Camp Nou. Coutinho has since become a key part of coach Koeman's project.

In a recent interview with World Soccer, Coutinho explains how a chat he had with the Dutchman proved crucial to him committing to his future to Barça.

"After the Champions League final with Bayern, Koeman called me and told me that he wanted me back at Barcelona," Coutinho said. "I was delighted to know that he had faith in me and wanted me."
