Samuel Eto'o: I know Laporta is preparing a reliable project for Leo Messi
The Cameroonian forward is hopeful that Leo will not be leaving Camp Nou
Former Barca striker Samuel Eto’o spoke to La Nacion and said that Joan Laporta is preparing a nice project for Lionel Messi, whose contract expires in four days time. “I know he’s preparing an interesting and reliable project,” said Eto’o.
“There have been very few gods of football and Argentina gave two, Maradona, who is resting near his father, and the other stays with us on this earth. I am blessed for having played with Messi and enjoyed his football. With Diego I did not have the chance to play but I saw him a lot as a kid on TV and it was incredible what he did with the ball.”
Eto’o is convinced Messi will stay at Barcelona beyond his deal.
“Messi is Barca and Barca is Messi. I don’t imagine Leo with another shirt. It’s his club, his home, his love. I don’t think his continuity is a question of money.”
Eto’o is also sure of who he thinks the next world football star will be.
“Another god is arriving for when Messi and Cristiano are tried of giving us these joys. This new god will be Kylian Mbappe.”
