The Dutchman is set to keep a similar team to the one that beat Villarreal

With the stubbornness of someone who is convinced of what he's doing, Ronald Koeman’s use of the 4-3-3 was short-lived. He decided the squad lacked legs, lungs, youth and energy to be romantic and play that classic system. There were tests and some winks to it in a few other matches, but the Dutchman then hit the key, imposing a formation that has become fashionable and that has managed to resuscitate Barça. His doubters should remember that he started with a 4-2-3-1 that now rests at the bottom of his office drawer.

Now there’s a line of three at the back and, barring surprises, it will be Oscar Mingueza (growing every game, beyond his row with Koeman against Getafe), Pique, who brings solidity, and Clement Lenglet, who has found his form.

Jordi Alba has no rival at left back, while right back will be Sergi Roberto or Sergino Dest. Both played a half against Villarreal. One of the big doubts.

The midfield could see a change. It’s hard to imagine Sergio Busquets or Frenkie de Jong being dropped, but Pedri has been tired and there’s a chance that Ilaix Moriba could start. He came on against Villarreal.

Where there’s no doubts is up front. Antoine Griezmann has hit form and Lionel Messi is untouchable.
