Romário: "Rosell is a thief, the same as Ricardo Teixera"

Romario, the Brazilian legend, has criticised the ex-Barça president Sandro Rosell, and the ex-president of the CBF, Ricardo Teixera in an interview with El País. Romario, who is a senator in Brazil, has always fought against corruption in football and he has continued that with this criticism.

After criticising the current president of the CBF, Marco Polo Del Nero, for being “a liar and shameless”, Romario attacked the ex-Barça president Rosell, who is currently in jail, as a “thief, the same as Ricardo Teixera. He’s as corrupt as the president of the CBF and the one from the Spanish Football Federation”.

Romario added that “it’s a shame to know that Barça are in the news due to these problems. The corrupt people who tarnish the history of a club like Barça, such as Sandro Rosell or the president of the Spanish Football Federation, should be in jail”.

Romario also talked about Neymar and his signing for PSG. He thought the decision was the wrong one. “I think it will be harder for him to be the best player in the world at PSG than at Barcelona,” he said, adding “Barcelona have also lost a lot with Neymar’s departure”.
