Antero Henrique says there are "clubs that don't respect the rules"

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Antero Henrique has continued the club's war with Barcelona. Adrien Rabiot's decision not to renew with the club has angered the hierarchy at PSG, where they believe Barça are behind the snub. Henrique, who's been negotiating a new deal with Rabiot, has not denounced the club in public. He did so in an interview with RMC Sport.

When asked if he was disappointed with Barça attitude, he gave a clear and concise response: "It always surprises us the fact that clubs don't respect the rules." It's a comment which surprises in itself, given the Financial Fair Play cases against the French club currently being looked into by UEFA after the signings of Neymar and Mbappe. It's also the first stone thrown in a new war between PSG and Barça, two clubs with poor relations.

In the same interview, Henrique, after blaming Rabiot's mother, also his agent, also denounced that "there was a moment when there was an agreement to extend Rabiot's contract but, without any explanation, the negotiations stopped. I am sure that he has an agreement with another club. Adrien had an agreement with another club at that moment."

Finally, Henrique indicated that "Barcelona reached an agreement with Rabiot before negotiating with us. [Their offer in the summer] was ridiculous. We were surprised at how low it was. It was disrespecful for a player of Rabiot's level. It's clear that Barcelona now have an agreement with Adrien."
