Pep Guardiola: "Barça are the best counter-attacking team in the world"

Bayern Munich boss Josep Guardiola has left the door open to a comeback against Barcelona at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night. "It's a game of football, a challenge. We are going to try," he said. To complete a turnaround and qualify for the Champions League final, he added that his team must play "with heart, but also with their heads."

"To make it to Berlin [the venue for the final] we have to score. How will we do it? That's the big question. First of all we have to generate danger, something we did not do at Camp Nou. After that, the game will speak for itself, but we have to take it on calmly."

Guardiola, though, also knows his team will have "defend really well" because "[Barça] have players of a lot of quality who know how to play on the counter attack. I would like to score a goal every time attack, but as the game gets faster and [back and forth], they have the advantage because they are so quick. We saw that in the first leg. Barça have become the best counter-attacking team in the world. If you aren't organised, they will punish you."

The Bayern coach continued to stress that the head "will be fundamental" to success. "People think we have to attack, but first of all we have to defend. Of course, we also have to stay focused."

Barça's former manager confessed that "I do not think of hypotheses" because "I can't predict what can happen. I know how Barça will arrive, how they can do damage because their players have great quality... The best thing for us will be if they are involved as little as possible. That would be a good sign.
