The young midfielder becomes the first player to wear the new 2020/21 shirt
Pedri has the honour of being the first player to be seen wearing Barcelona's home shirt for the 2020/21 season. Aside from the players who appeared in the advertising campaign, he becomes a signal of hope in Barça's rebuild. He posed with his new shirt minutes before signing his five-year contract with the club.
Josep Maria Bartomeu was present as he put pen to paper before going down to the Camp Nou dressing room to take more photos. He later walked out on the pitch, which is still under construction, ahead of his press conference in the Auditori 1899.
Pedri arrives from UD Las Palmas and the plans for him are unknown at present. Ordinarily, he would link up with Barça B but they are in a lower division than the one he played in last season. He is expected to take part in preseason before a final decision is made. There is a lot of interest from home and abroad in taking the talented youngster on loan.
