The French side could lose Luiz Gustavo and want Vidal to cover that potential absence
Arturo Vidal isn't short of suitors this summer. Despite being more a veteran nowadays, he's someone that offers guarantees in the middle of the park. Ernesto Valverde, who is a huge fan of his attributes and the fact he offers something different to others at his disposal, would hate to lose the Chilean international.
Vidal came on and scored the fifth goal against Real Betis but speculation has followed him throughout the summer, even when he was competing in the Copa America. The strongest interest came from Italy, notably with Inter, but Olympique Marseille are now ready to test Barça's resolve to keep hold of the midfielder.
Luis Gustavo could be about to swap France for Turkey and would leave a huge whole in the middle of the team. Andre Villas-Boas feels Vidal is the ideal substitute despite the player preferring a move to Italy if he departs Barça.
