Official: Rafinha renews with Barcelona and joins Celta on loan
The Galicians get their man, with Rafinha returning home to Vigo
Rafinha Alcantara has joined Celta Vigo on loan. Barcelona renewed his contract by one year - to 2021 - on Monday then sent the Brazilian to Galicia.
Rafinha played for Celta as a child before coming to join La Masia.
“The Galician club will pay the player’s salary and up to 1.5 million euros in variables,” said Barcelona in a statement.
Rafinha featured for Barcelona in all three of their opening La Liga matches.
With Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele all out injured, Rafinha was given a chance by Ernesto Valverde, which he took, although now he must play elsewhere.
