Neymar achieved his objective against Celtic. He set up a goal for Lionel Messi and then he earned a yellow card which will rule him out for the dead rubber clash with Borussia Monchengladbach and clear him to play in the last 16 and beyond.
The Brazilian went head to head with Mikael Lustig to earn a booking and make it his third yellow in the competition. However he knows that he has to play a different game against Real Sociedad. A booking in that would rule him out of action in the Clasico, which must be avoided at all costs.
Ivan Rakitic was also on his worst behaviour to earn a yellow card in the 88th minute, his third too, so like Neymar he will be ready to play in the last 16 without any threat of suspension hanging over him.
