The striker's representative has criticised the way his client has been treated this season
Munir's agent, Francisco Valdivieso, has taken shots at both Ernesto Valverde and Barça in declarations made to BeIN Sports. The main fury seems to stem from a series of broken promises by the two parties as the player felt he would be given a more important role this season.
"In the week against Celta Vigo, Munir was told by the coach that he wouldn't be selected any more unless he decides to sign a new contract and that's disappointed him. It appears that the board has put this rule into effect as they try to put pressure on him to renew. The coach told him that he'd give other players an opportunity or even some from the academy instead."
"The player is very grateful to Barça and is fully committed to the club because he knows he has a contract with them until June. However it's disappointing that following the promises made to him by the sporting department and the coach that he is no longer needed," added the agent. Munir is free to leave the club in the summer.
