Messi: Signing Neymar? How do you pay PSG? It would be expensive

The Barça captain doesn't see how the club could bring the Brazilian back

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi spoke about Neymar in his extensive interview with Jordi Evole on La Sexta on Sunday.

Messi, 33, said the last time they spoke was after the Champions League draw, which paired Barça with Neymar's Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16.

"We spoke about the draw," Messi said. "Neither of us wanted to face each other now. They didn't want Barça, either, because even if we're not in the best moment we are a team respected because of our history. It will be an even game."

Asked about Neymar's comments about the two playing together next season, Messi said: "I don't know if he said that. I thought he said 'would like...' You will have to ask him why he said what he said. We still have the WhatsApp group with Luis Suarez and we speak from time to time."

Asked if he would stay at Barça if they signed Neymar, he added: "It will be difficult to bring players in, there's no money. We have to bring in several big players to fight for everything, but you have to pay for them. How would we pay PSG? Bringing Neymar would be very expensive."
