Marc-Andre ter Stegen is human after all

The German goalkeeper was not at his finest against Real Sociedad on Saturday

Sometimes fans over-rate players but Marc-Andre ter Stegen has deserved the labels he has been given over the last few years. He's reliable, a silent worker who does everything well. After winning the battle against Claudio Bravo he has been undroppable. Barca don't make sense without him in goal. The former Monchengladbach stopper has improved hugely and keeps doing so. He's almost a robot, a machine made to save goals. he's even provided two assists this season.

However in the last two weeks he has been 'human'. Against Real Sociedad, while not entirely culpable for the goals, he didn't do brilliantly in either. The penalty Busquets gave away came after a minor Ter Stegen error, and for the second he parried it out to Isak who scored.

Against Mallorca last weekend, as Barca won 5-2, he made a mistake for Budimir's header, coming out but not getting the ball. Nothing too worrying but just a fortnight which puts him on the same plane as the rest of us.
