Man United renew Dalot's deal by a year, move him further from Barca

The Portuguese right back now has a contract until 2024 at Old Trafford

Diogo Dalot was one of the right backs at hat Barcelona have been tracing, but Man United had exercised a unilateral extension clause to take his deal to 2024, making a move for him harder. Now if Dalot wants to leave, Barca and United would have to reach a transfer fee agreement.

Barcelona were hoping to pick him up for free in the summer or get him cheap in the winter deal.

United are looking at other players too, including Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries, so Dalot’s future is not secured but it’s clear Barca will have to pay if they want him.

Barca are also looking at Villarreal’s Foyth, Meunier at Dortmund and Bayern’s Benjamin Pavard.

United have done the same with Marcus Rashford and his contract, another player who would have been free in June and was also of interest to the Catalans.
