Malcom's agent says 'revenge' is the reason they joined Barça and not Roma

FC Barcelona completed the signing of Malcom right from under the nose of Roma. The reaction from the Italian side, led by director of football Monchi, was one of disgust towards Barça and even threatened to take legal action against the club.

Well, just as everything seemed to have died down surrounding the controversial transfer, one of Malcom's agents has broken his silence on the matter. Leonardo Cornaciani, who works for Elenko Sports agency, revealed his side of the story to 'Tuttomercatoweb'.

"The reality is that we decided not to take Malcom to Roma because they didn't treat us correctly," explained Cornaciani. "We were also working on a deal for Fuzato, another of our players. Roma decided they wanted to work with another agent who, just so we're clear, has nothing to do with us."

Cornaciani admits that the reason behind the failed move to Roma was revenge. "Yes, exactly that. I'm sorry to say it, but that's all it was. Roma didn't treat us correctly ten days before the deal for Fuzato. And we responded by not treating them correctly. Due to their attitude against us, we decided - alongside Malcom - that the Giallorossi wouldn't be the best destination for him. And afterwards, in the Malcom deal, Roma had involved other intermediaries. Today, however, Malcom is happy to be a new signing at Barcelona."
