Luis Suarez and Barcelona don't click away from Camp Nou

It's been over two years since the Uruguayan scored away in Europe

Games away from Camp Nou have become a nightmare for Barcelona and Luis Suarez in recent years and it is one of the keys to explaining why they've not made it past the last eight since 2015.

It's been two-and-a-half years since Suarez scored away from home in Europe. In fact, since Sept. 16, 2005, when he scored the equaliser in a draw ... against Roma! What he would have given for that goal on Tuesday.

During the following 937 days, Suarez has played 13 away games in the Champions League without scoring. It's been a tough competition for him in general. He's only scored four in his last 19 games.

It would have been a zero goal season but for the fact he scored the fourth in last week's 4-1 win against Roma.

As for Barça, since they won the Champions League in 2015, they have struggled on the road. They have won five of their last 16 away games in total.

The run dates back to the 3-2 loss to Bayern in 2015 in the semifinal, which saw them make the final after a 3-0 win in the first leg at Camp Nou.

This season, Ernesto Valverde's side have only been able to win once on the road: 1-0 at Sporting. They drew at Olympiakos, Juventus and Chelsea and lost to Roma.

Their flawa away from home were really shown up last season, beaten 3-1 by Manchester City, 4-0 by Paris Saint-Germain and 3-0 by Juventus.
