Luis Enrique confirms Leo Messi will play vs. Monchengladbach

The Argentine will look to add to his nine goals in this season's Champions League on Tuesday

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique confirmed on Monday that Lionel Messi will play "from the start" on Tuesday, in the final game of the Champions League group stage against Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Barça coach broke his usual rule of not giving any clues on his lineup by revealing that Messi would be in the side against the German team. It's not an important game for either side, given Barça have already won the group and Borussia will go into the Europea League via third place.

In addition, the Asturian coach confessed that "winning is always the medicine for all problems" after three consecutive draws in the league, although he admitted that in the game against he Borussia "the maximum motivation is not there because there's nothing to play for."

Luis Enrique explained that the game, therefore, will be a chance to experiement with the system and the players who do not play as often as others. "I would like to win the game, but the general plan goes above that," he said.

The coach said that inside the club not as much importance is being given to the recent slump. "I don't think you should get carried away if you win a few games, nor if it's the reverse. At least that's how we see it from a professional point of view. Everyone else is entitles to their opinion."

NO ATTITUDE PROBLEM

In addition, Luis Enrique also denied that his players have had an attitude problem in recent weeks: "It's dangerous to look for these type of words. I've never seen a lack of attitude from my players."

On Barcelona's problems, he limited himself to saying that "I don't see any problems, simply situations which can be improved and on which we will work to do so throughout the year."
