The Argentine says that he would never bring the Catalans to court

Lionel Messi stays at Barcelona and it's because he won't go to court to fight his way out.

There is a 700m euro clause in his contract that allows him to move to another club, along with a clause that expired on June 10 saying he could leave for free.

Messi believes that clause meant at the end of the season - which was delayed until August by the coronavirus.

“There was another way and it was to go to trial," explained Barca's all-time top scorer. “I would never go to court against Barca because it is the club that I love, which gave me everything since I arrived.

“It is the club of my life, I have made my life here.

“Barca gave me everything and I gave it everything. I know that it never crossed my mind to take Barca to court.”
