Junior Firpo: Ansu Fati's goal was the key to Barcelona victory

The left-back played against Leganes because Jordi Alba was suspended

Like Ivan Rakitic before him, Junior Firpo highlighted Ansu Fati's goal just before half-time as the key to Barcelona's 2-0 win over Leganes on Tuesday.

The left-back came into the Barça side for the game with Jordi Alba suspended and did well, showing a good understanding with Ansu ahead of him.

"Ansu's goal was key because they had two clear chances at 0-0," he said. "It's what usually known as a psychological goal."

The win made it six points from six for Barça since LaLiga's return following a three-month pause due to the coronavirus pandemic but the performance was different from Saturday's impressive 4-0 win at Mallorca.

"In Mallorca, everything was much easier because we scored as soon as the game started," Junior added. "But tonight we had to work hard and wait for the goal to arrive.

"It's about winning because there are a lot of games in very few days. Getting points moves us closer to our objective, which is to win the league."

Games are currently being played in empty stadiums and Junior concluded: "It's strange because Camp Nou is always full. The fans help you with their support, but it's what has to happen at the moment."
