The Mexican full-back will go on loan without an option to buy

Julián Araujo is going to UD Las Palmas. The loan agreement between the Blaugrana and the Canary Island clubs is complete, so the Mexican will leave the Barcelona reserve team to join his new Primera Division club on loan.

Araujo's loan will be for a single season and without an option to buy, in the hope that the player adapts to European football.

Araujo could not play during his first six months at Barça since they signed him after the deadline and could not register him. Xavi Hernandez saw him in training a fair bit and recommended a loan move.

Barça received offers from Mexico and the United States, but the aim was for Araujo to stay in Europe. The priority was that he could go to Porto, but there he was not guaranteed playtime and the firm interest of UD Las Palmas has proved decisive.

Barça, after this departure and the more than likely departure of Sergiño Dest at the end of the tour, will now focus on signing a right-back. The clear choice of the Blaugrana club is Valladolid full-back Iván Fresneda, but they will have to negotiate a reduction of his termination clause, which currently stands at 20 million euros.
