Rakitic is the most important Croatian footballer in Barca history
Ivan Rakitic is the Croatian footballer who has played the most games in Barca history - tonight against Las Palmas is due to be his 200th appearance.
Rakitic follows in the footsteps of Prosinecki and Vucevic at Barca, among others. "I know those two very well, I was having a coffee with Goran in Barcelona recently," said Rakitic. "And I was working many years ago with Robert Prosinecki in the national team. It's a huge pride to be able to get more and more Croatians supporting Barca, there were a lot of players at Madrid. Croatia has to be more Blagurana than white."
Robert Prosinecki played two seasons, 95-97, just featuring for 22 games. Vucevic played two games for the first team. In one of them he scored a double against Atletico. Alen Halilovic, meanwhile, played one game for Barca, against Elche in the Copa del Rey. Curiously the same opponent Rakitic made his debut against.
