Griezmann: Today is not the day to speak about my future
The Atletico forward has still not revealed where he will play next season
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has kept up the suspense over his future. Once again he has passed up the chance to offer a resolution to where he will play his football net season.
Despite the expectation which had been generated by his appearance in a press conference on Tuesday, the France international surprised everyone present.
What’s more, before he began the press conference, he made a short announcement in French and Spanish in which he said it’s not the right moment to comment on his future.
“Sorry but today is not the day,” he said. “I know there's a lot of expectation, but today is not the day [to speak about my future].”
Barcelona hope to sign Griezmann from Atletico when his release clause drops to €100 million on July 1, while the Rojiblanco are fighting hard to get him to sign a new deal with the club.
He added: "There's no more pressure on me, I am relaxed, focused on the World Cup. I am happy and that's the most important thing now. I've lived with this for three months and I am used to it, now I have to think about the World Cup."
However, Griezmann did finally confirm that he's made his mind up on his future, although he reiterated once again that "today's not the day to speak about it."
