Barcelona's 2019-20 season began on Sunday with medical tests at the club's training ground for 15 first team players and five kids from Barça B.

The players called up by coach Ernesto Valverde for Sunday's first session of the new campaign at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper were: Ter Stegen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Todibo, Dembélé, Rafinha, Malcom, Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, Aleñá, Umtiti and Griezmann.

In addition, Barça B players Iñaki Peña, Oriol Busquets, Collado, Riqui Puig and Carles Pérez were present. Tests began at 9am in the morning.

Brazilian goalkeeper Neto and Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who have already had their medicals, will join up with the squad on Monday, with a session at 9.30am.

New signing Griezmann had not passed a medical yet, so was at the Ciutat Esportiva for testing on Sunday, where he also met his new teammates. He will sign a five-year contract later in the day before being officially presented at Camp Nou.

Valverde will work with this group of 22 players for the first week, while those that took part in the Copa America are still on holiday. Barça head to Japan on July 20 to play two games, against Chelsea and Vissel Kobe.
