Frenkie de Jong is like Pep Guardiola and never switches off from football
Just like the iconic Barça coach, Frenkie loves to analyse every last detail in order to improve
When you think of Pep Guardiola, you imagine him accompanied by one of his assistants, looking over videos of the previous match.
The current Manchester City coach won a lot of respect in the FC Barcelona dressing room for his professionalism and the meticulous methods behind his work.
That way of working has seen him rise to the top of the managerial ladder and helped him succeed at Barça, then at Bayern and now at City.
But it appears that Pep has a rival: Frenkie de Jong. The Dutch midfielder continues to surprise his new teammates over his perfectionism.
After receiving the trophy for being the best player at the recent Trofeu Joan Gamper, de Jong said he didn't feel he deserved the award. He didn't feel his, or the team's, performance was good enough and that everyone need to improve.
The midfielder looks through every minor detail and wants to learn from it, never content with the level he's currently at.
Just like Guardiola, de Jong took advantage of the long trip home from the United States to look over the highlights of Barça's victory over Napoli.
No doubt the midfielder find something he feels he could have improved on despite being one of the best performers on the pitch. It comes as no surprise that Valverde is already a huge fan of his.
