Former Barcelona star Quini dies of a heart attack
Enrique Castro suffered the heart attack while walking in Gijon
Enrique Castro 'Quini', the former Barcelona player, died on Tuesday afternoon because of a heart atack. According to Cadena COPE, Quini suffered it while walking near his house in Gijon and was taken to a hospital. In the ambulance they tried to revive him but it was not possible to save his life.
Quini, 68, was linked for the last few years with Sporting Gijon, where he worked as the team's delegate. They were the club he loved, but he also stood out for his years as a goalscorer between 1980-84.
He was someone very loved in Spanish football and as a man. On a professional level he was of a high class and marked an era. He finished top scorer five times in La Liga and twice more in the second division. He played for Spain at the 1978 and 82 World Cups. He was also at Euro 1980 in Italy. His loss is a huge one for Spanish football.
