The Netherlands coach believes that "many clubs would like to sign" the Barça midfielder but the player himself wants to stay

Ronald Koeman addressed the media this morning during the presentation of the 'Koeman Cup' at the Club de Golf Barcelona in Sant Esteve Sesrovires. There, the former FC Barcelona coach reviewed the current affairs of the Blaugrana club; as well as the future of one of his key players in the Dutch national side: Frenkie de Jong.

The Barça midfielder was shown the door last season, but his desire to remain in the Catalan capital won out. De Jong has ended up being a fundamental player in Xavi Hernandez's team during the current campaign and he hopes to continue wearing the Blaugrana colours for many more years.

However, it has also been reported in England that, following the departure of Gündogan, Manchester City are planning a bid of 100 million euros to sign the Dutchman. On this issue, Koeman has given his point of view.

"Many clubs would like to sign a player like Frenkie. As far as I know, he is very happy here and is not thinking of leaving. Barça have two duties: to strengthen the team and to try to keep their great players at the club for many years to come," he explained.
