Dest's Barcelona is future still unclear and will depend on offers

The right-back could stay at Camp Nou but nothing is certain at this stage

Sergiño Dest could continue at FC Barcelona. The Catalan club will consider any offers that could arrive for the full-back, but are also contemplating keeping him at the club. No decisions has been made yet.

Xavi Hernandez has asked for César Azpilicueta to strengthen the defence but the signing has been delayed. The change of owners at Chelse has made it difficult with previous owner Roman Abramovich having given the Spain international his word that he could leave this summer.

That's no longer clear with the new owners. The English club have an option to extend his contract automatically until 2023 after he played a certain amount of games this season.

If Azpilicueta doesn't come, it's possible Dest stays. Barça are also waiting to see what happens with Dani Alves, who could yet extend his contract by a year, although with an option to leave in January.

In any case, Dest's situation is open and the offers that arrive could decide his future. If no good offer comes in, Barça believe he is still a player to be taken advantage of, given his age (21), contract (2025) and release clause (400 million euros).
